This summer and fall, Cine Casual brought Cine en los Barrios to neighborhoods across Charlotte, turning parks, schools, and apartment complexes into outdoor cinemas filled with laughter, connection, and joy. Over the course of five free screenings, hundreds of residents came together to experience the magic of Latin American cinema—many hearing stories in their own language for the very first time.

From Mallard Creek to South Boulevard, each stop became a celebration of community. Families brought their lawn chairs, children ran to grab popcorn, and neighbors met for the first time under the glow of the screen. These nights reminded us of the simple but powerful truth that film can unite, heal, and inspire.
